What I am saying, brothers and sisters, is this: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Look, I will tell you a mystery! We will not all die,[a] but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For this perishable body must put on imperishability, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When this perishable body puts on imperishability and this mortal body puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will be fulfilled:
“Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”

So also
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 ESV).
Paul the Apostle wrote extensively about the mystery of our destiny. The first quote above is the climax of a long chapter.
We know we are almost 2,000 years on.
How many _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ before the trumpet sounds? (God knows the answer to that!)
For sure, there is no mistaking the sound of the trumpet call. There will be no error, no uncertainty.
And - "we" "we" "we" "we" "we" - who is that?
