Angry, incoherent, crowds seem to be common in our times. Paul was a, or the, most prominent known follower of Jesus in the period before 70 AD (CE). He was the author of a body of letters and was very influential throughout the area from Jerusalem to Athens, and possibly beyond. Paul endured much, including several trials.
