Jesus at An Hannukah

The light keeps shining in the dark, and darkness has never put it out (John 1:5 CEV).

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life” (John 8:12 NRSVUE).

In a long ago winter, during Hanukkah, Jesus was recorded in the Temple. (That time comes in the text after Jesus gave sight, and more, to the man born blind.)

There were conversations. Not everyone was happy with what Jesus said, but no-one was actually attacked. No blood was shed. Not then. 

Here is some: My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else.[a] No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand  (John 10:27-29 NLT).
